The great advantage of home hearing tests is that you can try out different hearing aid models in your “natural environment”. Where you will use them the most. This will help you to determine much quicker the type of hearing solution you like best.

We can also help you connect to many devices in your own home, making the whole process much smoother, quicker and convenient.

And with our premier aftercare service, you can trust our audiologists will always be there to help out.

If you decide to invest in your hearing device you could be fitted within 2-4 weeks however most of our Audiologists carry stock with them to fit on the day.

We’ll then schedule a follow-up call for a few weeks after, to see how you’re getting on and to answer any of your questions.

And of course, we’re always here if you need to speak to us for whatever reason.

Whether you require a hearing test at home for elderly people, or for yourself, we’re confident you will love our at-home hearing tests.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Do you need a referral for an audiologist?

You can book an appointment with a hearing specialist without a referral from your doctor if you’re worried about your hearing and are over the age of 40. Anybody under the age of 40 must primarily see their GP to ensure there are no underlying conditions.

When should I see an audiologist?

If you suspect you have some degree of hearing loss, no matter how mild, then you can opt to see a hearing specialist. Most people realise they have some form of hearing loss when they find it difficult to keep up with a conversation over the phone or in person, or if they suddenly find it harder to understand what’s being said on the TV.

Are all hearing tests the same?

No. There are many different types of hearing tests. Your audiologist will assess your hearing capability, and this may determine the type of test you are subjected to. All hearing tests are painless and non-invasive. A standard hearing test may include listening to tones and different pitches of sound at different volumes. In both a quiet setting and with background noises. But there are other tests, such as a tympanometry, that examines the eardrum and the middle ear muscles, and other tests for so-called “hidden” hearing loss. At Hearmore UK we offer tympanometry testing, otoscopy testing and more.

Can a hearing test be wrong?

Professional “audiogram” hearing tests are rarely inaccurate. If the testing equipment is tested on a daily basis for any failure then there should be no inaccuracies in the audiogram reading.
